Group Therapy
Why choose group therapy?
Sometimes, life gets heavy, and it can feel like you’re carrying that weight alone. Group therapy can help lighten the load.
Being alongside others who are facing similar challenges can bring comfort, understanding, and a sense of belonging. Our group sessions provide a safe, welcoming environment where you can share your experiences, learn from others, and gain new perspectives to help you work through whatever you’re going through.
- Gain new perspectives and strategies
- Support from trained facilitators in a safe setting
- Move through your journey at a pace that works for you
- Reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness
Grief and loss group counselling
Grief can be a lonely and isolating experience. It helps to move through it together.
We hold regular, scheduled grief and loss counselling groups to support you as you navigate your healing journey. Whether you simply want to drop in or you wish to to participate in our 6-8 week grief curriculum, we’re here to support you.
Research has shown that sharing the grieving experience with those walking a similar path can bring comfort and promote healing. Together, you can feel less isolated in your grief, gain strength from the stories and perspectives of others, and develop the necessary tools to help you on your own unique path through loss.
We honour, welcome, and respect people from all walks of life. Our support groups are open to any individual bereaved by the loss of a loved one. These groups are not based in any faith or religion and are open to everyone, whether or not you hold spiritual beliefs.
Our grief and loss support groups are tailored toward death-related losses, but where there is interest, we can provide groups for other types of loss. Get in touch to inquire.
Healing Hearts: Pet loss support group
Healing Hearts is a biweekly, drop-in support group for anyone grieving the loss of a beloved animal companion. Whether your loss is recent or from years past, you’re welcome in this space of understanding, connection, and healing.
Each session offers a gentle focus on a unique aspect of pet loss, from navigating guilt and letting go, to honoring memories and adjusting to life after loss. Through open conversation, optional sharing, meaningful activities, and mindfulness-based practices, we create a supportive environment to process grief at your own pace.
No commitment required — attend as you are, when you’re able. This group is open to adults of all backgrounds and experiences with pet loss.
Corporate Wellness Groups
71% of Canadian employees say that mental health affects their ability to work. As an employer, you can support your team with custom mental health workshops tailored to your industry, focus area, or even a specific incident, to help them grow, heal, and thrive.
We specialize in grief and loss but can provide workshops on many topics that will support the mental health of your team. We invite anyone to reach out, including organizations that work with grieving or the bereaved, such as memorial centres, seniors’ centres, health practitioners, or caregivers.
Your healing creates a ripple effect of care
At EHC, each standard therapy session funds another for someone in financial need. By investing in yourself, you’re helping to heal the world, at no extra cost to you.
