More about me

Louise is a practicum student in her Master of Counselling Training. Louise’s developing clinical interests include grief and complex loss, neurodivergence, anxiety, burnout, trauma, and the intersection of individual experiences with broader social and systemic influences.

Louise is completing her Master of Counselling at City University of Seattle and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from MacEwan University, with a particular interest in anthropology. Her professional background includes over a decade of experience in community support, education, and advocacy, with a focus on supporting individuals impacted by trauma and interpersonal violence. She also managed a specialized support and information line, providing risk assessment, emotional support, and resource navigation for individuals impacted by sexual violence. Louise’s approach is informed by a longstanding interest in yoga and somatic practices, recognizing the interconnectedness of mind and body and the role these practices can have in supporting health and healing.

Louise’s approach to therapy is integrative and client-centered, based on narrative and somatic therapies.  Louise endeavors to create a counselling environment that is collaborative, trauma-informed, and attentive to the broader systemic, social and relational contexts of people’s lives.  Louise is committed to fostering a practice that is neurodiversity-affirming, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience.

Louise works with people experiencing a variety of concerns including:

•             Grief and Loss

•             Trauma

•             Neurodivergence

•             Anxiety

•             Burnout

•             Depression

•             Navigating major life transitions

Outside of work, Louise often spends time outside with her dog, trying new recipes, getting lost in a good book, practicing yoga, or hunting for treasures at local thrift stores. She is guided by a commitment to remain curious and open-minded and has faith in every person’s capacity to heal, grow, and build meaning and connection in their lives.
